Admission Procedure

How admission works

Students are admitted at the beginning of the academic year in April. Odd admissions are made only when seats are vacant.

1. Registration

Register online, or collect the prescribed application form from the school office.

2. Test & Interview

An entrance test and an interview of the child; the Principal then considers the application.

3. Documents

Submit proof of date of birth and, for transfers, the Transfer Certificate and mark sheet.

4. Confirmation

Formal admission is complete only after the Principal approves it following the test and interview.

The academic year

The academic year begins in April and concludes in March. It is divided into two terms — the first from April to September and the second from October to March. In the primary section, the session is divided into three terms (evaluations).

Rules of Admission

Please read before applying

  1. Application for admission should be made on the prescribed form obtained from the school office.
  2. Students are admitted at the beginning of the academic year in April, after a test. Odd admissions are made after a test only when there are vacant seats.
  3. Formal admission is complete only after the Principal has considered the application form, following an entrance test and an interview of the child.
  4. A pupil joining the school for the first time must produce satisfactory evidence of date of birth from the Municipal, Village or Hospital record, or a Baptismal Certificate.
  5. Three years is the age of admission to Nursery. A corresponding age is fixed for subsequent classes.
  6. For admission on a transfer basis, all classes must furnish: (a) Transfer Certificate / School Leaving Certificate from the school last attended; (b) progress report / mark sheet showing performance in the last examination at the previous school; and (c) a character and conduct certificate for students above Class V.
  7. No pupil will be admitted without producing the documents above, and in no case may a pupil attend class pending formal admission.
  8. A pupil admitted on a Transfer Certificate shall not be placed in any class higher than that for which the certificate shows them to be qualified, nor will their date of birth be changed.
  9. The Transfer Certificate of a student joining from a school outside the state must be countersigned by the educational authority of the state in which the previous school is situated.
  10. Admissions will be made only for students who come from recognised schools.
  11. Once the interview / entrance test is conducted and the list of successful students is declared, no enquiry will be entertained by the office regarding admission.
  12. The final decision regarding admission rests with the school authorities. Recommendations are not considered and donations are not accepted.
  13. In case of re-admission, the full admission fee will be charged. A pupil who does not complete the academic year is not eligible for promotion.
  14. Students who do not have 75% attendance will not be allowed to appear for the examination. In case of sickness, a medical certificate from an authorised person is a must.
